Sarah is from the North Coast of Northern Ireland. She studied at Newcastle University qualifying in 2007 with a distinction in Clinical Dentistry. In her 4th year she won 1st prize in the Dental Protection competition for her Elective Research Protocol.

Following a 2 year rotational training programme through all disciplines in Newcastle Dental Hospital, she was pleased to accept a Staff Grade Teaching position on both the Dental Emergency Clinic, and the Paediatric Department. During this time she was admitted for Membership of the Faculty of Dental Surgery by the Royal College of Surgeons, Edinburgh.

The majority of her working career since 2007 has been spent by the sea in South Shields where she has been privileged to care for a varied list of patients, many of whom she now counts as friends.

Sarah has always loved braces and gets excited about straightening teeth.  She has completed training with Six Month Smiles, Quick Straight Teeth, Invisalign and IAS academy. So Sarah can offer a wide range of short term orthodontic options should you wish to improve your smile. Many of us have teeth which are crooked or worn, and alongside offering options to straighten teeth, she can also provide composite bonding, which can improve the shape of your teeth. She is currently working towards her Postgraduate Diploma in Primary Care Orthodontics.

Sarah loves going on dental courses to broaden her skills and continue her professional development. Do ask her what she has lined up in her diary and she will very enthusiastically tell you all about it!

When she isn’t being a dentist, Sarah is busy caring for her family. She and her husband Ben have 3 kids; Joshua, Charis and Andrew who are all at school. She loves all crafts, gardening, Classical music, and cooking, and subjects the kids to most of these activities!
